Alan Coulson Master Study
Alan Coulson Master Study

26"X18"

Acrylic Paint

Alan Coulson is an amazing contemporary portraitist. This painting has to be one of my favorite by him. I love the detail in the tattoos and hair; which is one reason why I decided to study this piece. Another reason was that I believe people misunderstand tattoos and the people who have them. In a way this study and my reflection of it are ways to show that tattoos are not a bad thing.

$550 (with self portrait reflection)

My Tattoo

26"X18"

Acrylic

This self portrait was created in response to the master study of Alan Coulson. I wanted to continue with the idea that tattoos are not a bad thing and that many people have them. So, I showed a tattoo, which is also rather large (However, I did add a few things to the tattoo in the image.), on my own shoulder and back.

Technology can be so frustrating sometimes. It becomes even more aggravating when you're dependent on that technology and can't get it to function correctly. Here you see me getting rid of this dependency by chopping up my computer.
